An RSS feed (or news feed) is a means by which you can stay informed about what's going on at Sangstream without having to regularly visit the website.
To make use of an RSS feed, you need some "feed reader" (or "aggregator") software. Most modern web browsers have feed readers built in.
Sangstream is based in Edinburgh, with rehearsals taking place on a Thursday night in the Meadows area.
The choir was established in 1997, is open to everyone and there is no audition to join us. In line with our founding principles, our repertoire is mainly Scots folk song, both traditional and modern, all sung unaccompanied in 3 or 4 part harmony (occasionally 5).
For more recordings of us over the years, watch us on our Youtube channel.
Musical Director
We are incredibly fortunate to have as our MD Corrina Hewat - a highly acclaimed singer, harpist and composer, and widely recognised as one of Scotland’s most unique and innovative musicians. Corrina arranges most of our songs, and, as well as her musicial talents, is a highly skilled teacher and motivator - not easy with 60 diverse, opinionated adults. You can read more about her here.
How We're Organised
The choir is run by an elected committee, alongside a "Music Organising Group" (the MOG!) which agrees materials for performances in conjunction with the Musical Director.
