Sangstream - What we sing

We seem to specialise in dark, dreary miserable songs celebrating misfortune, loss and misery, but occasionally a cheerier song sneaks into our repertoire.

Most of what we sing comes from the Scots tradition, but we also sing contemporary Scots songs, and traditional songs from around the world.

You don’t need to be able to read music to sing with us - all songs are learnt aurally, though sometimes sheet music is available too. Word sheets are always provided. Harmonies and parts are added after we’ve learnt the melody, but again this is a very flexible arrangement; don’t worry, you won’t always get stuck with a drone part unless you really want to.
